This is Vesta, and it is an asteroid. Although it is large enough to be nearly spherical and is covered in craters, it is still a small rocky chunk compared to a planet. We can see it orbits the Sun in the asteroid belt.

A massive, nearly spherical gray space rock known as Vesta floating in the vacuum of space. As you can see, its rugged surface is completely covered with deep impact craters, and it features a very prominent set of deep equatorial troughs, making it look somewhat like a small, battered moon.
